Software Escrow Dead

Lawyers, developers and end users constantly undermine or no software is mandatory deposit service. Because the industry, I'm a bit biased; However, I can say that I understand and appreciate their arguments. Do something that can not live without the deposit? Definitely! Nor do many businesses.

Regardless of your role in the software cycle deposit types (source code, software, hardware, technology, SaaS, formula, etc.), there is something said about the existence of the deposit. What is the purpose of the deposit, really? For developers it protects their intellectual property and ensures their creator/reputation. Deposit for end users is like insurance or peace of mind that if the business of software stopped was to continue as usual. Lawyers generally relate to customers or providers offering escrow deposit services using their training. Everyone has vested in the role.

The real question is, "Why me?"

I can give you 10 reasons why a developer or an end user, you need a deposit but I think that is not experiencing optimal conceptualize escrow.

Then I was already your business for years, never for deposit. Perfect! This is fantastic news for you and your customers.

Even better, you created a business software solutions for numerous verticals, you are just starting to build your client base. New customer trickles on every few months but WOM (rumor) is not taking as you expected it to harm the overhead wallet, your Angels already have relied. You need more business. What do we do now? How can you differentiate yourself from thousands of other providers? What makes you different? What is risk management have a place?

As a customer, you will not be impressed if you were making a large investment for CRM solutions your organization's key was also a deposit rather than to ensure their reliability? Responsibility if something were to happen to an unforseen your investment is protected. I think!

This is one small example of how software escrow is more of a risk management solution. Again, you definitely do not need a deposit, I ask you to ask yourself how many times have you said to yourself, "if only I had ... "Deposit is the only solution to ?????"?? only ".

So, do you really dead? Claim to say no no. I think with the SaaS model of growth, many people feel that a deposit. -What they don't understand-they hold their information. For end users, my question is-what would you do if tomorrow CRM, HR, accounting, software you use (cloud) failed to run? Mission-critical software or even not in the cloud?

I think this is a very exciting debate. To escrow-why or why not? Personally, I feel as though it is not dead but this deposit is lack of awareness. I think it would require another blog for follow-up in the near future.

What are your thoughts? I would like to hear from you (the person does not work in your deposit). Software escrow is dead?
